Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a commutation application for review by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a source provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the clemency petition. They also stated she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, stated in a news release that the prison’s warden was assisting the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for clemency.

Specific details of the clemency request are unknown, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her living area, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for Maxwell and her visitors.

The visits reportedly involve a designated private space for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to carry electronic devices, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other prisoners, Maxwell was provided directions about who she should tell her contacts to call and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she reportedly employed the warden as her private aide.

The news release indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the warden, who would provide them to the inmate, for her to examine and change and return them to the official to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Reported

Further perks reportedly provided to her include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a perk not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Her legal counsel did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to the convict is not something he has considered,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that she told friends and family in electronic messages that she was more content at the new prison than her previous prison.

This past summer, Maxwell was transferred from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, Todd Blanche, who also once acted as the President's private attorney.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around the President's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Congressional Response

Through the statement, Raskin also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the chief executive to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the document. “Your Administration should not be providing her with room service, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official attend a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

Raskin asked whether he had discussed a potential commutation for the convict with the official or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the transfer or special conditions in detention, and whether she, her lawyers, relatives or agents have made any promises to the President or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a response to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the nation's highest court declined to hear an petition from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
